Baltimore Survives “Purge” Level Event
The Purge: Baltimore 911
Yesterday, a little after 8 pm, the Baltimore 911 system crashed.
Surprisingly, even though the system was down for a little over an hour, residents of the more urban areas of Baltimore sparsely noticed the difference and in fact reported the same wait times, dropped calls, and amount of busy signals usually ran into when calling 911.
Business As Usual
The system was ‘back to normal’ around 10:15 pm, with no reports of murder, home invasions, or looting taking place due to the incident.
Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake has come under fire, most likely from upper- middle class Baltimore residents who call 911 every hour on the hour to make sure the service is still up and running, for her decision to leave fire and police departments in charge of the 911 system.
Aside from that, the Baltimore Purge was simply business as usual.
